DMV INVESTIGATED!!!
The Public Protector of South Africa has agreed to investigate the systemic failures of the Department of Military Veterans (DMV) following our formal report—and they’ve combined this new matter with our existing case, "Request for Full Audit of DMV - Veteran Crisis Requires Action (CMS-38454/2025)"!
This is a huge win for the 87,000 veterans we fight for every day, 19,349 of whom tragically died waiting for the benefits they were promised.
The DMV has failed our veterans in so many ways:
Only 686 homes built for 87,000 veterans, with R7.6 billion unspent since 2012!
A manual database that “doesn’t integrate with anything,” delaying healthcare, bursaries, and funeral benefits.
90 pothole machines and 10,000 tablets (worth R75M–R185M) purchased, but their location and usage are unknown—flagged as a Material Irregularity by the Auditor-General!
Leadership failures, corruption, and broken promises, leaving veterans in crisis.
SACCMVA NGC & NATIONAL CONFERENCE
SACCMVA President, Mr. Luke Plaatjies, announced a National General Council meeting in November 2024 & scheduled for February 2025.
This landmark NGC (a first for SACCMVA) has great significance in addressing SACCMVA challenges and pave the way for a more robust approach on service delivery with Military Veteran Benefits.
As DMV are responsible for funding such an event, SACCMVA was deprived of finance and this caused uproar and discontent.
The decision to postpone the NGC to a later date (not yet confirmed) also created an environment of hostility and mistrust given the NEC term of office elapsed already.
The leadership now has to make the painful decision to convene the NGC out of own funds and prevent further unwanted challenges.
The President already communicated to all Provinces to ensure structures are in place, prescribed conditions are set and leaders are informed
All leaders across SACCMVA are gearing up for the National Conference as the current NEC term of office has elapsed.
The NGC is now necessary as this will be the platform to prepare for National Conference.
SACCMVA National Executive Committee just has to get together, draft & submit all the documentation, logistical & administrative proposals and plans and communication.
The Provinces and Regions are ready to follow prescribed processes pertaining to the NC and looking forward to a new and fresh approach for SACCMVA.
Establishment - MVEESA (Military Veterans Economic Empowerment Solutions Association)
Dear SACCMVA Members,
The SACCMVA leadership is aware of the recently established military veterans group, MVEESA, which has been gaining traction, particularly in the Western Cape, due to its apparent political affiliation with the Patriotic Alliance.
We urge all members to exercise caution and due diligence when interacting with representatives of this or any similar organization.
We are acutely aware of the challenges many of our members have faced in securing rightful benefits. Unfortunately, this vulnerability can make individuals susceptible to exploitation and misleading promises.
Therefore, SACCMVA strongly advise you to:
Ask pertinent questions: Inquire about the group's mission, structure, leadership, and funding sources.
Conduct thorough background checks: Research the history and origins of MVEESA to ensure transparency and legitimacy.
Be wary of promises that seem too good to be true: Exercise critical thinking and avoid making decisions based on unrealistic expectations.
Verify information: Do not rely solely on verbal assurances. Seek documentation and verifiable evidence.
Consult with SACCMVA: If you have any doubts or concerns, please reach out to our leadership for guidance and support.
It is crucial to protect yourselves from potential exploitation and avoid being entangled in situations that could lead to further complications and unfulfilled promises.
We remain committed to advocating for your rights and ensuring you receive the benefits you deserve.
SPLINTER GROUPS AND THEIR DESTRUCTION
EXPLOITATION AND DIVIDE
Fellow citizens, comrades, and defenders of justice, Today, I stand before you to shed light on a pressing issue that threatens not only the cohesion of our SACCMVA, but also the dignity and well-being of those who have served South Africa with honor—the SACC soldiers. These brave individuals, who once stood at the forefront of our nation's defense, now find themselves ensnared in a web of exploitation, disillusionment, and betrayal at the hands of opportunistic splinter groups.
LEGITIMACY & VISION
As we confront this challenge, I urge all of us to ask the difficult but necessary questions:
1. What is the true vision of these splinter groups? Are their goals aligned with the genuine needs of our veterans, or are they mere facades for personal enrichment?
2. What mission do they pursue? Do they aim to unify and uplift, or do they thrive on division and discord?
3. What support structures do they offer, beyond rhetoric and empty promises? How do their actions compare to those of established organizations working tirelessly to ensure the well-being of our veterans?
VULNARABLE
These factions, born from division and fueled by personal gain, prey upon the vulnerabilities of our veterans. They promise a resolution to their legitimate grievances, such as long-overdue military veteran benefits, only to profit financially from their plight. These unscrupulous actors enrich themselves, while the very soldiers they claim to represent are left grappling with unfulfilled promises and fractured unity
CHALLENGE
It is time to challenge the legitimacy of these groups at the national level. It is time to demand accountability for their actions and their motives. It is time to protect the dignity and rights of our veterans from exploitation and manipulation.
BETRAYEL OF PRINCIPLES
This exploitation does not merely harm our veterans—it sows seeds of division within our broader national fabric. By creating divides among those who have served together and fostering mistrust in established support structures, splinter groups weaken the collective strength that has been the backbone of SACCMVA's progress. It is a betrayal of the principles of solidarity and shared responsibility that our veterans fought to uphold.
ACTION
But this is not a fight that can be won through words alone. We must act. We must strengthen the structures that genuinely support our veterans. We must ensure that military benefits are not just promises but realities. And we must foster unity, for in unity lies our strength.
Let this be a call to action, a rallying cry for justice, solidarity, and accountability. Together, we can ensure that our veterans receive the honor and support they deserve, free from exploitation and division. Together, we can build a future that upholds the values they fought to protect.
SPLINTER GROUPS & THEIR EFFECT ON SACCMVA - MAR 2025
SACCMVA noticed the flare-up of splinter groups and disgruntled members seeking resolve elsewhere .
The Leadership are urging members not to join or affiliate with such groups as there are no formal structures and such members run the risk of wasting their hard earned money, effort & time without receiving or achieving the prospect of getting military veteran benefit challenges resolved.
These splinter group's ideologies are to divide us all and cause great harm to innocent and vulnerable SACC soldiers .
To topple this off, these groups only last a short while and members soon realize this is just mere empty promises that will never serve the intended purpose.
Legitimate and registration is hard to come by and SACC soldiers must make every effort to inform colleagues about the dangers of such splinter groups.
Let us unite under one registered organization and face the challenges together.
SACCMVA ENGAGEMENT WITH MKMVA - GEORGE - 15 MARCH 2025
From Left to Right:
Stoffel Moos, Elvis Manyane, Ruben Mjobi, Tsasi Ramphisa, WCape Chairman John Bruinders, Cornelius Kombela, Margaret Biko
SACCMVA George has taken a big leap forward in proving that military veterans are human beings, dependent on each other.
For the first time in military Veteran history there are engagements as a group of SACCMVA & MKMVA shook hands and posed for a photo in George.
What a moment, proving we can set differences aside and be together. This engagements will ensure we reach out and build a military veterans community that reflect the demographics and social cohesion we all longed for

SACCMVA has the responsibility of leading such initiatives and create more opportunities conducive to building the democratic South Africa we so desperately crave
